What is a chemical peel?

Chemical peels harness the power of certain ingredients that dissolve dead skin cells and clean out pores. In essence, it’s an incredibly effective way to exfoliate skin and encourage fresh, healthy cells to rise up. Epionce’s chemical peels feature malic acid, salicylic acid and signature botanical ingredients.

What are the benefits of a chemical peel?

There are plenty of benefits you can see and feel! Think of chemical peels as a mega-booster to your daily at-home skincare regimen. In other words, if you’re seeing radiant and revitalised skin just by cleansing and using a serum and moisturiser, chemical peels will accelerate those results in both the short and long term.

Epionce’s chemical peels will address common skin issues like congestion, dullness, and rough texture, while noticeably minimising the appearance of dark spots, breakouts, redness, wrinkles and fine lines.

How often should I get chemical peels?

For optimal results, you should get at least two to six peels spaced a minimum of two to four weeks apart, depending on the type of peel and your desired skincare goals. If you’re busy, Epionce offers ultra-efficient “lunchtime peels” called the Lite Refresh that are so quick and so gentle you can head out the door right after!

What is the post procedure care?

The Essential Recovery Kit is available for purchase to be used post peel. The kit provides a targeted boost of hydration whilst soothing and calming highly sensitised skin without irritation.

Skin may appear slightly flushed or wind-burned for the first 24-48 hours post treatment, with the possibility of light flaking or peeling at approximately 3-5 days. Any peeling is usually complete by day 10. The following should be followed post peel.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise 48hrs post treatment

  • Avoid sun exposure for 48hrs post treatment

  • Use SPF 50 everyday

  • Avoid heat treatments for 48hrs post treatment

  • No makeup for 12hrs post treatment

  • No swimming for 48hrs post treatment

Results are refined pores, greater skin clarity, reduction of redness and improvement in texture and acne breakouts.

Are there any side effects?

The Epionce Peel System provides the same anti-aging results as some of the strongest chemical peels, but without the downtime or reactions of those peels. You might experience some light flaking or peeling, but you will not experience patches of skin coming off.  Some people think that the more the skin peels, the more effective the peel is, but that’s not necessarily true! Your skin does not need to “physically” peel in order to experience the benefit of a chemical peel.
